If you're visiting or live in London and are under 25 you may find it very difficult to rent a car.

London Car Hire can help with car rental for young drivers but we'll be the first to admit that it's certainly not cheap.

The truth is that drivers who are less than 25 years old cost more to insure due to them being seen as a higher risk. This is an unfortunate but unavoidable fact and we understand how frustrating it can be.

As a driver aged between 21 and 24 you'll need to pay a young drivers surcharge which varies based on the type of vehicle you choose.

To see what cars are available and how much they will cost you should follow the steps below:

• Perform a search using our online reservation service choosing your preferred location in London.
• Generally, only cars from our city car, economy car and hatchback ranges will be available to young drivers.
• When you see a car you like click the 'Rental Conditions' link for that vehicle.
• As shown in the image below, information will appear that will tell you the young drivers charge for that vehicle (this is in addition to the standard rental cost).
